Competency Four

In my internship at Auburn University Regional Airport, I developed an Airfield Driver Training Program to provide personnel with the knowledge necessary to safely operate vehicles in the airport environment. The project required me to organize technical and operational information covering airfield familiarization, vehicle operations, ATC communication, airport markings, and runway safety into a comprehensive training program. Through this experience, I strengthened my ability to translate complex safety requirements and operating procedures into clear guidance for employees, tenants, contractors, and other airport users. Developing the program also reinforced the importance of consistency, accountability, and effective communication in maintaining a safe public organization. This experience will benefit me in airport administration by helping me develop policies and training programs that promote both operational efficiency and a strong culture of safety.
